Trump was not injured in the shooting, but one audience member was killed and another was injured. The injured victim is in stable condition at a local hospital.

The motive for the shooting is still under investigation, but Goldinger said that Weiss had a history of mental illness.

The shooting has drawn bipartisan condemnation. President Joe Biden released a statement saying that he was "outraged" by the shooting and that he was praying for the victims and their families.

Former President Barack Obama also released a statement condemning the shooting, saying that "there is no place for violence in our democracy."
